About us
On a mission to deliver on the potential of document automation
We strongly believe that document automation is the single piece of digitization that holds the most potential for the legal industry. Documents are the work product of most legal processes, and they express the craftmanship of the person creating it, the quality of the thinking that steered its content and the careful weighing of potential risks against business opportunities. And document automation has the potential to make a real impact on all of this. Of course, in addition to removing some frustrating manual processes and getting more done with fewer resources.
Despite this substantial potential, legacy platforms have largely failed to deliver on the promise of document automation. We founded Document Drafter because we believed we knew why legacy platforms had not unleased the true potential of document automation, and – more importantly – we believed we knew how to solve this hard problem.
We have seen our customers get 10 times more value from document automation than what was previously the norm. And we have seen them do it consistently. Their success is the only yardstick against which we measure the effects of our efforts. And their continued and expanded success is the only thing that guide our decisions. We are in the truest sense of the term obsessively customer focused and consider every new customer that place their trust in us a partner in the mission to deliver on the potential of document automation.
A long-term partner
Since the first customer went live on Document Drafter in 2016, we have rapidly developed the platform to become what we believe to be the most complete document automation offering available today.
Although we are proud of what the Document Drafter has evolved to, there is still a lifetime of work left to perfect this technology that we believe holds such a unique potential for the legal profession.
Therefore, we see our mission as building an enduring independent company that can invest long term in addressing and pursuing the big challenge and big opportunity of bringing real automation to legal documents. Today, we are a profitable, cash-flow positive, and founder-controlled business with an incredibly talented team in perfect shape to deliver on the original vision that remains as clear as ever.
Service ethos
One of the elements where we stand out as an organization is that we have always considered our customer success services as vital as our software. We have invested heavily in developing these services to match the quality of service our customers provide their clients.
We believe that every touchpoint impacts how our customers experience our service. Ensuring that everyone on the team owns every customer challenge like it was their own and are always willing to go the extra mile – that requires a strong culture. One where team is before ego, where you are never afraid to be proven wrong and where the customer is above everything else.
We have spent the last 7 years perfecting how to help law firms create the best possible automated documents. In that process, we have helped law firms automate tens of thousands of documents and know how to work around all the typical hurdles that slow down knowledge management processes. And we have worked through all scenarios related to integrations, workflows, data, client facing solutions, embedding automation into other applications or processes many times before and will be able to provide concise analysis and clear recommendations.
It’s core to our mission to generously bring this knowledge to our customers to make sure they get the most out of document automation. That’s why we have made our customer success services, including training, unlimited free-of-charge. For us, a partnership approach is not a glossy statement in marketing materials, it’s foundational to who we are.
